Finished Crate (Textured and Rendered)

Here is my finished crate after I painted it in Substance Painter and put it in UE5! The geometry really looks rough but I'm glad my texture looks okay!

Crate Asset Part 2

Here is my process of my Crate as I worked on it through Zbrush, Maya, and Substance Painter!

Exporting my crate in Maya to an FBX file for Zbrush.
Putting the crate into the ZBrush space!
I added in the light scratches on the outer hexagons and added the panels and latches!
Gave it a base color in ZBrush and exported high and low poly versions of it! The high poly door version was made a while later when I realized I hadn't exported it.
This was my attempt at Quad Drawing the lid/door. I learned a lot but this is very messy and I have a lot to learn still.
Here is my high-poly crate next to the low-poly crate!
Here is my crate's UV Map!
My crate is now in Substance Painter with it's UV Map!
Finally, here is the crate in Substance Painter with the environment and shadows turned on!

Crate Asset Part 1

Here is my crate along with a beauty shot of it using Arnold and a shot of it inside of UE5!

Here is what I'm referencing!

Crane Hierarchy Assignment

For the first part of the assignment I organized the hierarchy for the provided crane and its claw! I also got to animate with it which I enjoyed. Below is the hierarchy and a playblast of its animation!

Crane Hierarchy Playblast Link to View on Youtube )

Next I put the crane into UE5 and messed around with the materials and how it affects the lighting. I think it looks really cool, but that might be because my favorite color is blue.

Lastly I created a scene made out of primitive polygons. I'm not the best at modeling but it was fun messing around with different shapes and making sure the hierarchy was correct.

Update: (9/14/2021)

I beveled the towers, fixed the geometry on the planet's ring, made the ground plane more interesting, and scaled back the pyramid and cone shapes! I made the towers look like giant crayons and I think it looks really cool!

3D Art - Basics of Topology Assignment

I'll admit, I don't enjoy 3D modeling. I've always struggled with it so I'm proud that I was able to complete the examples without too much struggle! That means I'm (hopefully) progressing in my skill. My favorite one to work on was the Multi-cut Tool shape that looks vaguely like a tape dispenser. Below are all of the examples!

Also, I worked with the Little Robot model! I flipped around some of his parts so his antenna is now his one eye! His former eyes could be trick ones that surprise people! I think his smile is cute but he looks a lot more evil with just one eye.

3D Art Basic Shapes Render

So after figuring out that my render wasn't working because my camera was inside my objects for around a half hour, I've finally rendered out my project! I'm not the best with Maya for modeling so I'm proud I was able to get this far.

Luckily, the sky box image I used also resulted in a nice light blue color! You can also see a little bit of the clouds reflecting in the ring shape and cone!

Pokemon VR Experience: Final Sprint

This sprint I re-did two of the Professor's animations! The original animations were causing issues so I replaced them with these. Now ...
